Summary

Integrating Harm Reduction philosophies and harm reduction treatment approaches are an exciting and integrated way to change the way we treat substance use disorders and the way we treat the people who have an addiction. This presentation will provide an overview of harm reduction principles and connect these principles to the new neurobiological understanding of what happens to a person with a substance use disorder. The presentation will explore how we can integrate harm reduction into our existing clinical approaches, policies, and programs. Participants will learn practical skills and ways to apply harm reduction approaches into clinical practice and policy development.
