2017 HIPAA Security Rule and the Social Worker

This is Part One of an optional two-part bundle.

The HIPAA Security Rule pertains to all patient health information in electronic form and sets forth how to protect that electronic information from unauthorized access. This course provides the required basic knowledge of the HIPAA Security Rule for healthcare personnel, with a focus on social workers. The course provides training, education and awareness to social workers regarding the protection and communication of electronic patient health information. It presents ethical considerations and security tips. It also highlights and emphasizes the importance of following security policies and procedures.
